Bendigo Chinese Association Inc. Plum Blossom Dancing Team

Plum Blossum Logo

Chinese dancing was developed over five thousand years ago, which is closely connected with the common people also known as folk dancing. This folk dancing is celebrated with colourful costumes, paintings, scenery, and music. In the Tang Dynasty (A.D. 618-907), poetry, music and dance thrived. Over the years, dances were influenced by dances of other countries. Dancing was also an important part of Chinese religion and philosophy.

Our team is known as Plum Blossom and was formed in July 2006. All the dancers are children from families of the Bendigo Chinese Association and wider community.
